In recent years it was proved that subclinical bacterial diseases of the gastrointestinal tract do not allow to maximize the productivity of animals, and the ban on the use of feed antibiotics does not allow not to carry out effectively the program of intestinal microflora control. Alternatively to antibiotics we offer the preparation "Kormocid" enhancing the safety and viability of young pigs and poultry, as well as having a number of other useful features.

«Kormocid» is the mixture of number of short-chain organic acids (formic, propionic, lactic, citric, ascorbic) and the probiotic preparation based on lactobacilli. The amount of organic acids in the finished product is at least 50%. This synergistic blend allows to impact diretly on the correction of intestinal biocenosis, to maintain in the intestine certain conditions for the development of normal microflora and to suppress pathogenic one. Organic acids promote the creation of the protective barrier against infection and better absorption of nutrients, and lactic acid bacteria control the level of pathogens and maintain the normal flora. Currently the acidifiers are the alternative to feed antibiotics.

Unlike antibiotics, organic acids are natural intermediate products of metabolism of farm animals. They are completely safe and fully assimilated during metabolism. Moreover, organic acids perform the function of the source of additional energy exchange in the body. Also, when using acidifiers there is no addiction to them of pathogenic organisms.

The mechanism of action of acidifier «Kormocid» is simple. The optimum medium for most pathogens is weakly acid, neutral or slightly alkaline (pH 6-8). The influence of the content of the gastrointestinal tract on pH in the direction of its decrease is effective mean of pathogenic organisms control - most pathogenic bacteria can not tolerate the acidic environment with low pH ~ 4.5 - 5.0. Thus, the addition of acidifier promotes the increase of acidity of fodder in gastrointestinal tract (or, in other words, reduces pH). At the same time the growth of bacteria, particularly gram-negative bacteria which develop optimally at pH 6-8, is suppressed. The gram-positive bacteria (including lactic acid), in contrast, perform better at pH 5-5.5, therefore, in the presence of organic acids they obtaine the advantage over pathogenic. This increases the activity of pepsin and improves the absorption of nutrients.

The basic functions of the acidifier «Kormocid» are:

  • to decrease of the feed pH;
  • to activate the production of enzymes of the stomach, pancreas and intestine;
  • to control of E.coli and Salmonella;
  • the antifungal effect, the prevention of mycotoxins formation;
  • the growth and normal development of the villi of the small intestine;
  • the normalization of intestinal microflora;
  • the stimulation of the growth and development of small intestinal villi.

Due to optimally selected composition the preparation is added to the feed at rate of 0.5-2.0 kg per 1 ton of feed, depending on the species, age and physiological state of animals or poultry.
